Bells Food Group cuts gas bill by 10% thanks to James Ramsay

James Ramsay Ltd are pleased to receive a glowing commendation from our client, Bells Food Group, following a successful gas burner replacement at their multi-million pound production facility in Shotts, Lanarkshire.

After their existing burner failed, Bells Food Group turned to James Ramsay to help find the best solution for their needs. This came in the form of a new fully modulating digital burner from market-leading manufacturer Weishaupt, for whom James Ramsay are a Scottish agent.

During the burner installation we also reinstated missing baffles to increase the efficiency of the system with no additional costs. The works were carried out – to schedule – over a 6-day period, during which the factory remained fully operational on a temporary steam system adjacent to the plant. The new burner is expected to deliver a 10% saving in Bells’ annual gas costs.

Jamie Shepherd, Service Director at James Ramsay said “We were delighted to be awarded this contract from Bells Food Group. Until now, we have predominantly worked with them on their process burners, so it’s fantastic now to also be able to provide them with a cost-saving steam solution. As one of the few remaining steam specialists in Scotland, we had the in-house skills and experience to complete the works on time, to budget and with minimal disruption.”

Paul Griffiths, Director of Operations at Bells Food Group commented “We have been working with James Ramsay for a number of years now and have always been delighted with the standard of work delivered by them. This project was no exception. Particular commendation to James Ramsay’s foreman Allan, whose attention to the job was excellent.”
